Lingerie quality control starts with clear product requirements and an agreed sample. Connect fit and wearer comfort with measurable checks for construction, sizing, color, labels and packing. This page provides planning guidance, not a certificate or proof that a particular product has passed testing.
Keep one approved reference
Specification control
First, record the style code, material details and measurement points. Date each revision and identify the current version. Share approved changes with everyone responsible for sampling and order follow-up.
Sample approval
Record what your team accepts and what still needs correction. Use the sample approval checklist to document fit feedback, measurements and labels. Keep approval evidence linked to the exact sample version.
Packing confirmation
Confirm unit packing, size assortments, labels and carton markings. Also check that packing instructions match the order quantities and destination needs. Agree changes before dispatch rather than leaving them to interpretation.
Define lingerie quality control checkpoints
- Compare the style and construction with the approved reference.
- Check measurements using the agreed method and tolerances.
- Review seams, trim attachment, closures and visible finishing.
- Compare colors with the agreed reference under defined viewing conditions.
- Verify label wording, placement and the size shown on each garment.
- Match unit packing, assortment and carton quantities to the order.
- Record observations and agree how to resolve nonconforming items.
Agree inspection and testing separately
Before placing an order, define who checks the goods, when the check occurs and which acceptance criteria apply. If you use a sampling plan, specify its scope and decision rules. A visual inspection does not replace laboratory testing, and a small sample does not establish every unit’s performance.
Testing needs depend on the actual materials, construction and destination. Request documents that identify the relevant model or material and test conditions. Do not assume that a report for a different style covers your order. Confirm feasibility and documentation requirements during the ordering process.
Share your quality requirements early
Attach your specification format, inspection checklist and required documents to the project brief. Confirm the agreed scope and any associated cost before work starts.
